The cave
The word marble comes from the Greek μάρμαρος, meaning "shining stone". The luminosity of the material and the lunar landscape are among the reasons that prompted us to shoot this campaign in the magnificent marble quarries of Carrara, one of the most famous and renowned sites in the world. The hardness and veining of the marble from the Apuan Alps enhance the refined shapes of the bags, and the whiteness celebrates the wide range of colours. The quarry, owned by "Successori Adolfo Corsi" and active since 1811 in full compliance with environmental regulations, has become the backdrop for the new spring/summer 2021 collection thanks to the shots taken by Alberto Carmagnani and Stefano Zino, merging the brand with another Made in Italy excellence recognised worldwide for its quality, culture and creativity. The new campaign is accompanied by a short movie made by Giovanni Giusto and Lorenzo Rapetti to show the public the work, certainly not easy, of the crew inside this metamorphic stone basin, resistant to time and infinite shades. We chose different corners to shoot each model of our "Stars" collection: the models "shine" and take their name from stars and constellations of the eternal celestial vault. We had to adapt to continuous and sudden weather variations that created different scenarios each time, but we would never give up this idea, "sculpting" our creations in a unique and particular landscape that allowed us to bring back the colours to our public after a year full of "shadows", and quoting the famous poet Théophile Gautier "Three things I like: gold, marble and purple: magnificence, solidity and colour".
